Rihanna - Loud and Take That - Progress Analysis

Rihanna - Loud

The only word on the front cover is "Loud", which are in capitals at the bottom of the cover. Rihanna's eyes are looking down, as if looking towards the word "Loud".
Another point can be extracted from the typing on the cover; the word "Rihanna" does not actually make an appearance on it! This suggests, as this album was released in 2010, that people will recognise her because she is successful. The same can be said for Lady Gaga album/singles post "Poker Face" as that was the song that made her commercially successful. A good example of an album by her without her name on the front is "Born This Way".
Back to Rihanna, we can tell by the positioning that her raised shoulder is to add sex appeal, as is the red lipstick. The red lipstick can also be connected to the fact she now has red hair, making these areas stand out.
To indicate that the album is "new" and "fresh", there is added lighting to her face.

Take That - Progress

The words "Take That" and "Progress" are in small letters compared to the photo of Take That themselves, suggesting that they can be easily recognised, even in the way they are depicted on this album cover.
This cover suggests that, even though they were successful at the beginning of their career, they have learnt more and become more successful. This is typical in the media world for bands such as Take That, and this media story is backed up by the lyrics in the main song on this album, "The Flood". The point about them being more "evolved" is obvious in the way that they start off crouching on the left side of the front cover and they are standing up on the right side of the front cover.
